This is the east side of the Shevington Moor Bridge built as part of the M6 contract but a distance away from the main motorway. It takes the Standish -Shevington B5206 (now partly renumbered to A5209)
over what was going to be the Wigan North Link Road from junction 27.This was only built as far as the bridge with traffic going up to Standish or Shevington & Gathurst. 54 years later it is still not been completed.

Is this taken from the Arbour Lane area?

Jarvo, you are correct ,I was close by Arbour Lane when I took this photo. It was a Sunday afternoon and I was on my way home from working the day at the Spring Road base. According to my diary, I walked from the office to home in Standish along the M6.(Couldn't do that now!)
