You're sure this is George Clarke Richard and not Ian Brady ?

George is a great bloke. I used to work with him at B.T.
Quite a good artist too.

You are spot on as George is a splitting image of Cliff Richard in his younger days.
George is the best artist of drawing and painting faces of people that I have met.
When we used to meet up in the Commercial, or Swan and Railway, out would come his pencil and draw faces of anyone.
Actually he and another Relief Signalman from Parkside had an exhibition of their work shown in the Wigan Library on several occasions.
Thanks Richie for all these memories.
Tony Cook.
(Do you remember me??

Tony, i have a sketch that George did of me a few years ago in the Brocket, VERY quick and a good likeness i must say.

I remember him in the mid 1970s, in the pubs around Wigan. He would do a pencil portrait for 50p (the equivalent of about five or six quid today).
They were excellent likenesses.
