Sorry Chris, the only one that I can make out is Sammy Hughes, can't see enough of the other lad's face to tell who it is.

Chris. Were any of your relations employed at the Maypole Colliery? The name is very familiar to me. Most probably in the electrical,or engineering section of mining.

Tuddy, could the other fella be Vinny Ruddy, deputy? It's that chin!
Albert, I had an uncle Gerald who was a fitter in the pit at Golborne and Sutton Manor. He might have worked at Maypole before that. I also had another couple of uncles,Tony and Johnny, who worked at Mains and Wigan Junction. They also might have worked at Maypole.

Thanks Chris. It is many years now since the Maypole closed, and a lot of the men went to various other collieries. It is surprising how names get impregnated in your memory. I remember there were two brothers named Dallimore, I think they were fitters, or maybe electricians. Two other Electricians I recall were John Christy, and I only remember the other electrician's surname, Bridge. All very amiable chaps.
