Not a patch on steam, these stinky things.
Cullie, please feel free to use these photos as you wish but if you would like higher res versions email me and I will send you them.
Bert probably built that hillman.he could weld sawdust and helped everyone.I still remember vic the foremans cry for help when things went adrift.peck peck peck!
Mick, did you go to Horwich training school?
Yes I did attend Horwich Works Training School 1964/1965.
The Hillman Imp was a load of rubbish whatever colour it came in!!
Mick I was in the the same intake.I remember you and some other lads from Springs Branch.Phil Butler R.I.P was a good schoolmate of mine,John Watkinson and Graham Marsh? There were 50 odd lads in that year and it is hard to remember most of them.Enjoyed every minute working for BR.Good photo.
Pwesthead I remember them all well especially Phil who was a good friend of mine, sad that he went so young. I also enjoyed my railway career but I was glad to go in the end(I retired 4 years ago), no longer the railway that I knew and loved!!
