I've no doubt Brian Grady was an estimable fellow.

This detailed photographic record of his retirement, however, is of severely limited interest to those who, until now, had never heard of the old boy.

In other words, one snap of the event would have been more then enough.

Michael, It may have escaped your notice but every photo of Mr Grady has different friends stood alongside. Loads of memories of the others stood in the photos that are bringing back great memories for ex Glass Works employees. Mr Grady was very photogenic, wherever there was a camera opportunity he was there. Brian Bradshaw - Thankyou for the excellent photos.

What another great pic which evokes lots of old and great memories, me and Alf Wane on the furnace platform with Brian Grady, the best boss I have ever had the pleasure to work for, great days ...this is what Wigan World is about Michael, surely if you go onto the Heinz part of Wigan World there'd be just as many pictures of people who you or I don't know but it's documenting times and places gone by!! The glassworks is no longer there, and sadly some of the people who worked there too.
