From the 1869 built printing press when it might have been smothered by its own antiquity, to the then very latest modern era of web offset printing. Left the old Victory-Kidder machine now in a Museum, and the Crabtree state-of-the-art in printing newspapers. The machine is seen being installed at woods street in 1965, and the Wigan Observer was one of the first in the country, to use this revolutionary printing process.
