Left to right Cliff Roper, Derrick Smith and Alf (Terry) Hately making his first appearance on Wigan World, Alf served his time in the press room and then went on to better things out of the trade.

Alongside two quality men, sadly no longer with us. Cliff Roper the finest Billiard player i ever saw and Derrick Smith a man whom i only really come to fully respect only after leaving the Obby. Thanks for the pic...my kids have never laughed so much!

ALF!!! I couldnt remember for the life of me what your nick name was!! I actually have a picture of me taken in your sports car in the car park of the Obs. I was shocked and saddened at the news that these to great guys have left us. I keep forgetting how old we're all getting. I left the Obs when I married in 77' at the age of twenty. I'm not making it obvious but lets see how your maths is??!! Great days, great people. Sad you only realise when you're older exactly how happy you really were.
