A side view of the Wigan Observer's new colour printing press, the 60ft long machine is the first of it's type. A unique feature of the machine is that it can produce a broadsheet newspaper of up to 32 pages inset in steps of two pages, and can if necessary be operated on a split-operation basis using three black units and three colour.
