An absolute classic and it's so clear each person could have their own individual portrait taken from it, I can only assume it's plate photography. It's also a period piece of its time. Brilliant.
My mum Ellen Ackers nee Peet, is shown presenting the bouquet of flowers.
My dad Harry worked here, I think he was over what was called the Mantle department. I remember having to wait outside every fortnight to go for my haircut at the top of the street, Ted Howard's I think. Also one Christmas I got a train set which was from Jennifer Moss's dad.
Just found out an ancestor of mine was Wholesale Clothiers Manager for this company at the time of the 1921 census. Alexander Fieldhouse. I wonder if he is on that photo.
