Taken many years ago when I was at Woodfield. You can see Mr Woodcock on the steps. The lad in the centre is Phil Eastham who went on to play rugby for Wigan. He looks like he was practising wearing the cherry and white hoops even then!

I was at the old Woodfield school, I'm not quite sure when & nobody around now to tell me. Could have been 1945/47 when staying with my grandparents in St Clements Rd. I remember the old house frontage well, big rooms & having 'rest time' which composed of laying on a thin coconut mat on the wooden floor. Couldn't have been there long as my family had to return to India, think my Dad was on leave.
