This is a photo of my late mother's school class. Her maiden name was May Grundy and she grew up in Ingram Street off Woodhouse Lane. Sadly she died last year aged 95 so this would date the photo to the 1920's. I would guess that most, if not all, of the people on the photo are no longer with us.

440,000 of our population are 90+ so I guess there's roughly a 1% chance some of them are still with us.

It saddens me to look at old class photos like this one to think that all these young children are just starting their lives, and now they are all gone. It makes me ponder on my own mortality.
