I recall Mr Oates very well, too - he was well-liked by everyone.
Mr Oates never raised his voice and always spoke using a medium tone which was crystal clear.
It was a real shock when he passed away.

Philip Gormley: Well young man we have some kind of statement going on with the hair style, could it be the King Elvis, or the rebel James Dean! no matter who your looking one cool dude.

Susan: It's nice to know your still out there. Yes, we all got on together rather well, didn't we. As you say, 'Happy days'.
John G: You have the eye of an eagle, sir. Unfortunately for me, though, my hair has receded much since those days. I recently stood before the mirror when it soon became apparent that I no longer possess a 'best side'. Regards to you and Jim.

Thanks Philip I'll send Jim your regards, my grandson says that my head is like the M6 motorway, two grass verges and a fast lane down the middle.

Jimmy M: I remember your cousin Geoff as being rather quiet yet friendly - hope he's keeping well.

I remember Mr Oates, the Art teacher. Sadly was killed at home due to gas poisoning. He guided me thru my O Level Art exam. I can remember Susan Corrigan quite a fiesty girl when I knew her. And obviously Philip Gormley whi lived in Billinge with me. I didnt join the school until Jan 1963 having just moved to the area. I remember being put in Snudges class! Great memories!!
