I now remember the first person on the back row. Derek Hunter

Derek Meadows is still around, living off Marlborough Avenue. Kenny Sharples worked at the Crem, before my time, but I took his Funeral - quite a character, I was told. I think he still lived in the family house in Cheltenham Avenue at the time of his death.

Thank you reverend for the feed back. When I was in Wigan, about three years ago, I saw Derek Meadows. He was in one of the cafes, in one of the arcades, in the town centre. I think a number of the lads shown, have passed away.

Thank you Keith. He did live in Hey Street, when he went to Spring View School. I didn't know he still lived there. Give him my regards if you see him.

Reverend. You are on the ball. Thank you. As you say, we were all twelve.

Easy enough, Albert - I just checked in St Mary's Baptism Registers when I saw Kenny Sharples' name. Interestingly, only four others, Kenny Brocklebank, Ronnie Williams, Norman Pye, and Raymond Banks were also Baptised at St Mary's. I think most children were baptised at that time, so presumably there were one or two RCs, plus some Methodists, and then some who'd moved into the area as the Council houses were built.
Can anyone tell me where Gerrards Yards, Spring View was? It's the address given for Norman Pye in the Register.

Reverend. I was baptised at Ince Parish Church, Ince Green Lane. As you are aware, my brother Harold was baptised at St Mary's Church. Relative to your question Gerrard's Yard. I know when Norman went to school, he lived down a street, opposite Morris Street,& Shed Street, that street lead into Ainscow Street.

Gerrard's Yard was located at, 334, Warrington Road, Lower Ince. Hope that helps David.

Jinksy. I remember one time, somebody pinched Old Aggies pipe. He said. If the culprit replaced it on his desk, nothing further would happen. Next day he came into the playground, and in a loud voice, shouted" Rejoice I have found my pipe". He held the pipe aloft. I had never seen him so pleased.
