Hello Susan Its Anne Wilkinson. Im sat on the front row next to Margaret Calderbank( looking terrified)and I cant see you either.Do you remember going to the Park cafe for one of your birthdays? Me & Glynne were talking about it the other day!! Happy memories!!!
That's my class!
Miss Warburton is the teacher. Later married when we were in the juniors and became Mrs Winstanley. Her mother lived next door to us on Chorley Rd Standish.
Margaret Calderbank was my girlfriend back then. We used to dance together!
Best friends were Hugh Molesworth, Lambert Ashton and Brent Highham. Hugh now lives in California. I joined the RN at 16 and spent 27years service. Now retired and living in Cornwall. Married to Hilary from Burscough for 40 years!
Love to you all, and I have every class photograph from St Michaels from when we started in 1957 to when we left in 1964.
Big hugs xxx
Mick Fairhurst.
Hi Mick, I wouldn't have thought you were the type to collect old photos, just goes to show how you can so easily misjudge people, my apologies! Why don't you consider uploading the old photos you have? I've been living in Germany now for almost 35 years and as both parents have passed on, I assume a lot of the old stuff simply got "dealt with"! So I for one, would be very grateful for any photos :-)
",Yes Mick go on put them on!!!
Hi Anne yes I do remember having a party at the Park café, its so nice to hear what people are doing now. The more I look at this pic the more I don't think I'm on it. I now live in North Wales right in front of the sea, happily married to Neil a policeman, two boys 36 and 32 and 6 granddaughters!
Hi Mick, nice to see your posts. My brother David tells me you are an active cyclist forum poster, he enjoys reading them. I love seeing everybody, and more photos of our class would be wonderful. Anybody dance Tango (Jennifer)?
Fond regards - Hugh
I have some sad news - I just saw on Facebook that Janet Sheppard passed away. I had no idea she was even ill, but her most recent photo shows her looking much older and tireder than her older posts. It looks like she died on October 3rd; I asked one of her friends how and am waiting to hear. RIP Janet https://www.facebook.com/janet.shepherd.98229?pnref=friends.search
