I have a number of uncles and cousins in the line up, mainly on the front row
Peter do you know when this was taken.
Actually, looking at my uncles and cousins, I would place the time at just before or during the war
I know that Oswald Mason ( front row, 2nd from right), died in 1952/3
Is it the Bethel at Newtown, Peter. The date seems about right if the man 2nd from right middle row is who I think it is. Thanks.
Yes, Ken, it is the Bethel at Newtown.
I think the man you are referring to could be John Winstanley from Goose Green (although I'm not sure)
Hi Peter and Ken....I think I can be a little more precise with the date.....The guy far left middle row is Frank Brown whos wife Emily (Auntie Em to me) was evacuated from Guernsey just before the German occupation in 1939 and came to live with us in Newtown. In 1940 her husband Frank (pictured) was "Cas-evaced"...( Casualty evacuation ) from the Army in 1940 with a badly broken arm.. He also came to live with us... I know he joined the Glee party soon afterwards, so I would date the picture 1941/42...Bob
Thanks Peter, but I have had it confirmed it is who I thought it was. It's Ted Green.
