I'm fairly certain from the appearance of this little lad that he is Eric Hilton, an eventual friend of mine from Up Holland Grammar School days 1957-1964. We shared the same birthday. His father Len and his uncle ran a small family haulage business in Up Holland Moor, and for a while at least Eric worked for them in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

You are spot on Christopher, the little lad is Eric Hilton. I think he must have been an only child as there were no other children next door while we lived there, we moved in 1953/54. I always wondered what became of Eric. I haven't look at these walking day photos for ages till someone posted a Walk Sunday pic on Wigan World the other day....7th Nov 2014. They were busy events.

Eric Hilton lived on Ormskirk Road, UpHolland Moor - across Back Lane from UpHolland Moor School.He would be 68/69 years of age now. He was friendly with Ronnie Foster (RIP).Eric lived across the road from Kirbys who had chickens and trucks ....
