That is Dicconson Terrace and the house on the left was the residence of former St George's church vicar, Bernard Harrison. It was later occupied by the rectors of Wigan Parish church who succeeded Malcolm Forrest. The street lights were round and white, before being replaced with orange strip lights in the 1970s. In that part of Wigan there is Dicconson Street, Upper Dicconson Street, Dicconson Terrace, and Dicconson Crescent (not at all a crescent shape but a short hemmed in street of a few terraced houses. But no Dicconson Lane, that's the road from Aspull to Westhoughton.
I remember this area of Wigan as highly residential. On Whit Monday we walked around here from the Market Square and onto Wigan Lane past the Convent and St Mary's and St John's Churches. I remember those streets being tree lined and it always seemed to be sunny.
