This photo is taken on the Street by the former St Marys Infant School,(Now St Marys Church.) The Walking Day Proccessions started here. The vicar of St Marys at the time was Mr Wagstaff.Does anyone have any memories. My mother was a member of the church all her life.

Bob Wagstaff didn't come to St Mary's until 1958 (he served here until 1975). The Vicar in 1954 was Lionel Williams (1952-57). I think the pic may be from Bob's time - because I think the lad second from right is Keith Talbot, aged about 8. The street on the other side of the railings is Burgess Street - all gone now.

Thankyou for pointing out that Lionel Williams was the vicar in 1954. I only remember Mr Wagstaff as the vicar.I was probably about 4/5years old in this photo. I thought the boy 2nd from right was Eric Wilson?I have a number of photos of St Marys Walking Day.I just picked out a couple. My father was a St John Ambulance man and gave aid if needed.

i remember Rev Wagstaffe quite well
he was a jolly vicar not stern faced like the ones today
i was a member of ince parish at the time so we interracted a lot with the church down the road

Mr Wagstaff married me in 1961 and I taught at sunday school so we got the bells free of charge at our wedding.I always found Mr Wagstaff a quite man and a gentleman.

Mr. Wagstaff married my brother Colin and his wife in 1961, and later christsened their son; he was always smiling.
