Great Bill board ads. Are there any bill boards still around in the Wigan area? Can't remember seeing any.iykqb
There is a billboard on each side of the railway bridge back along Warrington Road, at Britannia Bridge, and on the side of the Big Rock, just up the road.
I can remember the chaps putting up the adverts ,Ron,real skill and expertise perched on a long ladder.
If I remember correctly didn't they have 'Bill Posting' as a game on the Generation Game??? As you say Dave not easy especially if it was windy. I was always amazed at how they got all the seperate sheets to line up
Used to be a billboard at the traffic lights junction of Platt Bridge and Abram, gable end of the hairdressers. The thing is I go past everyday and cant tell you if its still there.
Its still there. There is also one at the top of Peel St (Walthew Lane) Platt Bridge.
there was bill boards on warrington road spring view between shed street and morris street in 1950-60.
