been just prior to demolishing Central Park.I
have never been into Wigan Tesco simply because
of where it is built and I know quite a few folk
who are of the same opinion!
I remember when The Wigan Warriors shop was an old toffee shop!
Yes I remember it all, and when it was a corner shop, I think it was known as Kelsalls even long after it was taken over by the Holts that little shop, we used to get 3p and 5p vimto ice lollies from there
The little shop,, ahhh what memories, hot summer days coming home from school ( st marys & John fisher ) used to call into the shop for Jublees, remember those and later on when a little older, they used to sell cigs seperately, we called them SEPS, 3p for a cig... what a laugh we had.
Not going into Tesco because it was built on Central Park? Sorry, I find that quite pathetic to be honest.
It's like me never buying a house were Springfield Park was!
And if I had the chance, I'd give you lot back your run-down Central Park and leave the modern JJB Stadium to a modern game!
those were the days of our lives, the bad things in life were so few. {words from one of queens hits, i mean the group of course}.
Gareth, I think our run down Central Park was a thousand times more up to date than Springfield Park.I use Tesco no problem we can't blame them for building there, blame the people that sold it to them! By the way if we're talking pathetic I know Latics supporters who won't sit in red seats at the DW,how pathetics that?
Central Park was better than Springfield Park, thats why we came cap in hand to you asking if we could host a big F.A Cup game at Central and Wigan Rugby refused.
I'll never forget how Rugby treated 'little' latics...now your we are treading on YOUR toes.
And I agree again, not sitting on red seats is pathetic.

Sorry, but I have to agree with gareth about not going into Tesco, but can you honestly say you have never shopped at Big "T's"....or does your wife do it all
gareth
More than a case of the pot and kettle here mate, you 2 are as bad as each other
in my opinion that is the way hilton st should still be.. many a happy memory at central park
I remember that shop being called Kelsalls in the 70s used to got there a lot and prescots grocers was across the road
Please note I stated WIGAN Tesco. Nowt against Tesco but never have nor never will enter this place!
WIGAN SHOULD HAVE BUILT THERE OWN NEW GROUND .THEN YOU DONT NEED SIT DOWN WITH NO ATMOSPHERE.LIKE AT THE DW.
