"Passing through" a terminus? Is it the Hogwarts Express?
Not passing through, the is Wigan Central the start of the journey to Manchester just before closure in 1964.
I recollect that a number of the locomotives using this line, had a distinctive funnel, shaped somewhat like a dunces hat, with the wide base at the top.
Wasn’t, this line a L.N.E.R.line?.

Baker. So very many large housing estates have been developed all around large towns, such has been the case in Wigan. For a person still living in the proximity, it must be more difficult to assimilate their previous knowledge of various areas, having lived through all of these changes, than a person that hasn’t, and had long since moved away. I remember the depot that you refer to. Just down the street, where the Manley was situated, there was a row of houses, facing this depot.
