This is the view looking up from Worthington - it doesn't look that much different now.

Seen looking up Rectory Lane towards the Owls. You're right Reverend, it's not that different today. This station, and many others like it, will make a re appearance, mark my words.

Standisher, with all the new houses on Rectory Lane a Station would be very handy there. They would have to find room for a large Car Park though.

I reckon it will happen, sooner rather than later. With the volume of traffic now clogging the centre of Standish another solution is needed. On the subject of traffic congestion, the box junctions now being added are a good idea, but until the traffic light sequence is slowed down, there will be an accident waiting to happen. There isn't enough time between a red light going on in one direction before you see the green in the other. Madness !!

the problem with rebuilding Standish station is the lack of track. It's only 2 tracks all the way up to Euxton and stopping trains at here would cause delays for the fast expresses. They need to extend the 4 tracks back through Coppull to Standish to enable it to work and that would cost millions.
