Look how beautiful DEK 5E looks in Wigan Corporation colours on Station Rd. put Item number 17879 in search.

Even in the day ie the 1950s and 60s when I was a school boy I though how genuinely beautiful the Wigan buses were compared with other towns - although I liked the Bolton chocolate and cream as second best. I think it was a real case of all the design coming together in perfection, the colours, the gilded lettering, the coat of arms and the unique green lights. Sheer perfection. I presume somebody designed that look , they should have had a knighthood. And its not just Wiganers On a recent holiday in Northumberland we were sharing a table with a couple from Bexhill on Sea. The husband was a bus fanatic who had come to see the old bus garage in Hexham. When I told him I was from Wigan his face lit up and he waxed lyrical about the buses and those 2 green lights. See its not just us who thought they were wonderful !!
