View of Wallgate c.1920's? notice Conroy Brothers fruit wagon, appears to be making heavy weather of getting up the hill. The company was still going strong in the 1960's

Has A.W. says in the other Wallgate photo, little has changed and is still recognisable after almost 100 years.

It just shows how useless our Council is - they can't even manage to destroy a town's heritage properly.
Another great set of pics you've found, Ron. Well done.

Thanks for putting this on Ron, good to see the Conroy delivery van on the left.

I wonder what the guys on the van are doing? Fixing a lamp? Overhead trolley bus cables? Putting up bunting? Brilliant photo of a moment in time!

I'm with everyone else, a great set of photos.
Don't forget Mark we have a Conroy's bushel box in the garage !

Another great pic you've dug up Ron 'Howard Carter' Hunt! LOL

Gideonfel, the guys on the truck won't be dealing with trolley bus wires - the short lived trolley buses run by Wigan Corporation only ran on the Martland Mill service.

Helen you are cruel knowing I covet that box haha.

Some of the early trams had double trollies, I guess they
didn't trust the rails as a return.
