Brilliant pics Ron, but i'm sorry, i myself don't agree with mass posting, it tends to drive other peoples efforts off the page that haven't had a chance to be seen.
Jonno, There are 10 pages i.e. the last 400 photographs to be uploaded, to look at.
I realise that, but i will bet MOST people stick to the first page.
I agree with Jonno, the photos are really interesting, but a few too many at any one time.
This group of photos are just brilliant.
Too many, some of you say, Rubbish!!! I am a Wigan ExPat and this is a time I remember most vividly of Wigan Rugby League. It was a magical time and the more photos of this era, the better, great contribution Ron "Keep em comin'". Thanks.
I agree with Syd.
Anyway there are lots of other things to look at on here.
Lately there have been lots of photos of Haigh Hall and Haigh in general . I do not mind that and if there are things that do not appeal to me (Haigh does interest me but I should like to see more of Pemberton, Highfield, Orrell , Upholland Billinge and Kitt green !! Oh and Porter's Wood , Mick . lol)
And guess what ? I am one of the ones who did not stick to the first photo . Again, thank you for this wonderful set, Ron.
I have been a Warriors season ticket holder for years and watched them from when i could climb on a bus, so for me there's nothing better than seeing these great photos, but i still maintain there should be a limit on the number uploaded at any one time.
I can see Jonno's point of view. Actually, I don't think this current crop of photos has been overdone, but I recall a couple of years ago when so many photos of Wigan Grammar School Sports Teams were uploaded that the few photos of other subjects were pushed off the page before people had a chance to see them. The photos were certainly worthy of inclusion on The Album, and were of historical value, but I remember thinking that the person uploading them should have done a few at a time, perhaps over a fortnight, to give others a chance to be seen.
I agree with you syd but i don't think she knows owt about owt!
Hello, Alan, love! How are you, my little flower? xxxxx
WELL IRENE I am very honoured to be called a "little flower"
and you ask how am I? I must apologise most profusely to you dear Irene but my memory has lost you, would you like to get in contact with me ?
No, it isn't your memory going on the blink, Alan......I had completely mixed you up with someone else, and feel a right wally, (especially calling you a little flower)! A senior moment on my part; my sincere apologies.
I love rugby, Wigan rugby in particular and old Wigan rugby photos even more. BUT for all our sakes and for what it's worth, I think there should be a maximum limit of TWO rows of photos on the same topic on any ONE page by any ONE contributor. I've no idea how to make it work.
As these photos are a 'set' from the brochure What's your problem? Don't see many photos on here that you have submitted? If you feel so bad, then upload some of your own and knock these off the first page.
I think the fact is that very few copies of this special will still exist! Post away, I say. It's preserving yet more of Wigan Warriors for all to enjoy. Thanks for taking the time to scan and upload. The fact that it a report on a cup final it needs to be scanned and posted as consecutive items. If you don't want to look at them, then don't click on them. If you can't be bothered to look at more than just the first page of the album, then it's your loss! Last year I found a booklet published in 1954 to celebrate the centenary of Notre Dame High School Wigan. There were ~ 18 pages. As an ex pupil I was fascinated by it. Hence I shared it on WW as there are still a lot of us 'old girls' around. I was there 70 - 73.
I get bored senseless with all of the train / railway photos - hence I don't bother to look at them, but I do know that there are people out there who love to see those images. Please don't change the posting rules. Thanks :)
all these photos must be copy right and never have ben allowed. End of any argument!
