What a great picture. I just love how all the girls on the front row are seated in exactly the same pose: hands folded neatly on the lap, and right leg crossed smartly over the left. It seems to me that there was much more order in schools in those far off days. The year I was born actually.
I've only just seen this photo. Irene Causey was my mum. She married Horace Jones who also went to Whelley Secondary. Mum sadly passed away in 2011.

I think we are distant cousins. My Great Grandmother was Elizabeth Causey.
Hi HelenB, awesome! Thanks for your comment :) Yes, I think somewhere down the track we must be related. Family history is a hobby of mine and I have 7 Elizabeth Causeys in my family tree!! Could you give me an idea of birth/death dates for Elizabeth so I can identify which side of the tree, please? Thanks so much, Christine
Second row, third from the left my Dad Graham Woods. Moved to Cornwall in the 70’s with his wife Maureen Harrison and my brother Shaun. Sadly he passed away in 2013.
