Looks like a great community spirit existed there. There used to be a family called Carey lived in Ward Street, they had about 15 children, must have been difficult in a 2 up and 2 down.

My father lived on ward street number 13 up to 1952

This was the Queens Coronation in 1953, all the dolly tub had beeb painted red, white & blue with th props stuck in with ruffled crepe paper round that my Mum had done on her sewing machine. The fence at the end also painted.

My dad Len carey is Alan's brother.he would be 4 at the time of picture
