This picture was one from a box of slides that somehow came into my possession so I don't know much about it.
I think they were taken for an geography project at the old St. James' School.
There is another from the church tower, looking in the opposite direction, towards Eckersley's, which will give a better idea of the date because Baker Street looks quite recently built.
Early eighties?

A very different view now, around Rovers ground is and along the old railway line is now covered in trees.

the railway bridge across the canal is down so it would be 1972/73
