He got this certificate when he was a driver returning the Engine to it's depo after a trip to North America, it was given to me by his daughter who lives in Spain

I remember running down to the railway line from St Clements Rd with my sister to see the Flying Scotsman go by, we would climb up & sit on the wooden fence by the tracks, it was so exciting...Health & Safety...what Health & Safety ? I
Joe was my grandad! What a pleasure to see this!
