Hi Barbara, Thanks for the info. When you put names to faces it all came back to me! I used to see Mavis Calderbank until we were about 18 (long time ago) but we lost touch. What about you do you see anyone? I just remembered I met Terry Rimmer at a party about 25 years ago.I have lived near Warrington for the past 30 years and don`t get back to Wigan much since my mum died last yesr. Best wishes Sandra

It was great to see faces from the past.I now live in Ross on Wye but visit Wigan 4 timed each year to meet friends.It would be good to have a reunion someday.Best wishes to od school friends.

Hi Alan, just to say that a reunion at some time would be great (that is if 'us girls' are invited). I will keep a lookout for any further info.

This photo brings back memories, I think this would have been the 1954/55 vintage, Miss Hitchen's class. I left at the end of that year and went to Lamberhead Green Junior School as we moved from Pemberton to Kitt Green. I met up with some of the boys again at Thomas Linacre School a couple of years later.

I remember most of the class but to my shame not all of them, age taking its toll on the memory!

The lad 3rd from the left on the front row was identified by Barbara as Raymond Mercer but I think it was Raymond Lancaster. He also had an elder brother named Norman who also went to Highfield.

It is Raymond Lancaster he lived higher up then me in Howard Street. Brandon, your dad wasn't Tricky Hilton was he? I remember his son went to the TLS and had striking white/blond hair.

Yes Ron. Guilty as charged "Tricky" was my dad. What hair I've got left is still blonde.

Hi Brandon, I have only fond memories of your dad, he was my form master when I started the TLS. He took us for Art and me being colour blind! it wasn't my favourite lesson<g> Along with Dacre Brown and Dennis Pegg, I never heard anyone ever say anything bad or derogatory about your dad, he was well liked through out the school. I remember coming to your house, in Bell Lane, one Saturday morning. What for I can't remember???? It was over 50 years ago<g> :0(

Having thought again about the year of this photograph, I think I may have been out by a year. It's probably 1955/56. If it was 54/55 it would have been Mrs Simm's class. Can any other class member verify the year and class?

Im really hoping that my dad is in this photo.His name was John Ryder and has 5 siblings.His father was a local Bobby,Robert Ryder.Im desperately trying to research my family tree,and although there are a few members of Dads family left,Nobody seems to know much.Id appreciate any help as poss.Thanks x

Hi Joanne. I am on this photo and your dad was in my class.I am sure that your dad is third from the left on the next to the back row. I remember that he had a brother David and a sister who I think was Ann. If my memory serves me right they sang in the choir at St Mathews church.

Thanks barbara for replying..I was wondering if u knew of the farm that dad went to live on for a few years in his early chidhood...it was in ince but cant remember the name
