This was a postcard found in my Fathers sets of Photographs and postcards from the 1900's up to the 1980's. All I know is that the composer ,W.E.Cotterill, was my Mothers brother who was also known as Bill or Tom. In the 1920's & 30's I believe he either had a band or played in a band playing the modern music of the era. Originally he came from Warrington where the Cotterill family came from. Anyone recognize the hymn?

Text: Praise ye the Lord! 'Tis good to raise
Author: Isaac Watts, 1674-1748

1 Praise ye the Lord! 'Tis good to raise
Your hearts and voices in his praise;
His nature and his works invite
To make this duty our delight.

2 He formed the stars, those heavenly flames,
He counts their numbers, calls their names;
His wisdom’s vast and knows no bound,
A deep where all our thoughts are drowned.

3 Sing to the Lord! Extol him high
Who spreads his clouds along the sky;
There he prepares the fruitful rain,
Nor lets the drops descend in vain.

4 He makes the grass the hills adorn,
And clothes the smiling fields with corn;
The beasts with food his hands supply,
And the young ravens when they cry.

5 His saints are lovely in his sight;
He views his children with delight;
He sees their hope, he knows their fear,
He looks and loves his image here.

Thanks Andy for the full Hymn as it is not familiar to us. It was surprising to find on the search engine the various adaptations of it and musical arrangements over the past 100 plus years or so. This one is not mentioned. We have a friend who lives in North Wales and can play the piano so next time we see her I will show her the postcard with the score on it.
